An Update on Miss Audrey

Things I don't want to forget:

  • When Audrey drinks her bottle she makes the sweetest noises and moves her hands as if to say "Mommy this milk is so good, keep it coming" - She is definitely is a Gooch because she is already talking about her food :) She also begins to fuss when I take her bottle away to burp her

  • Audrey loves bath time with Daddy! She splashes in the water and looks around. We are so thankful the fussy bath times are a thing of the past!

  • Audrey is sleeping very well - I've been following Baby Wise since Audrey was born and it has helped out tremendously. She feeds every 2 1/2 hours - has wake time of about 40-50 minutes then sleeps till her next feeding. On her 5 week birthday she slept 8 1/2 hours! - But on average it is about 6-8 hours a night. Her last feeding is at 11:30 - Last night she slept from 11:30 - 5:30. I'm hoping the 5:30 will soon turn into 7

  • Her cry is no longer the "infant cry" if you know what I mean. It is more of a "talking cry". I love to listen to her on the monitor as she is waking up.

We have a busy summer of traveling and seeing friends and family! I can't wait! Summer has definitely become more special since Audrey was born.

Cousins!

Casey, Trichelle and Parker came to visit this weekend. We had a great time with them and was able to get some good pictures of the kids together. We all enjoyed the dynamics of having two children in the house - what fun it was!

Check this out!

I've been dying to learn how to make bows for Audrey. Evan's mom began Audrey's collection and made it look so easy, but I was tired of seeing all these fancy bows for 5-12 dollars in the stores knowing I could make them on my own. I knew their had to be a way to learn - and I found it!!!!!!!

FREE Bow instructions!!! I'm thrilled and will be going to Hobby Lobby this afternoon. Hmmm, now which bow to try first....

3 Weeks Old

Precious Audrey,

This week has been one of the best and I know its only going to get better. Your Daddy and I feel like we are getting to know you so much better. You bring such a joy to our lives!

Things I don't want to forget:

  • Your smell - I love how you smell after your bath. I love to hold you close and rock you and breathe in your sweet smell.
  • Pacifier - This week you have taken to your pacifier. You were having some fussy periods during the day so we decided to try and give you a pacifier again and you loved it! It has helped you to be so content during your wake times during the day and has helped you to fall asleep faster on your own. Though, at night you would rather sleep without it in your mouth. (For now anyways)
  • One of your favorite things to do is lay in just your diaper on your changing table and kick your legs. The other day you did this for more than five minutes!
  • You also LOVE your swing and we do too! It plays music and makes lots of sounds. (Graco Sweet Peace)
  • My favorite time of the day with you is the evenings. Your Daddy and I give you a bath, put you into your sweet pj's, swaddle you really tight, give you a bottle and pray for you. We love speaking truth over you and know God is already imparting to you His vision for your life. We know He has called you to great things. Our heart is that even at this age you will begin feeling the comfort of the Lord and His love for you.

Audrey, I absolutely love being your mom. There is no better job in the world.

Pictures to come .... I'm having problems with the computer....
